We attract some of the brightest and the best in medical travel – people who are willing to share their knowledge of what works (and what doesn’t!), and contributors from major healthcare providers from across the world.

Cultural Evening: “Medicine in Greece: from antiquity to modernity”

Oceanis Filyra are your hosts for this cultural evening to be held in the historic Hall of Athens University History Museum. A short presentation by Oceanis Filyra will be followed by a tour of the exhibition, which houses collections of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Medicine, and will include a brief history of medicine in Greece. The evening will finish with drinks & canapes.

Time:  Shuttle service from Wyndham Grand lobby 6:45pm

Return to hotel: Transfer at approximately 9pm. Alternatively delegates may wish to take a stroll around Plaka, admiring the Parthenon and make their own way back to the hotel

The IMTJ Medical Travel Awards Ceremony & Dinner

The Awards will be presented to the winners at a gala dinner hosted by IMTJ at the Hellenic Motor Museum on the evening of May 23rd, 2018. The presentation of the IMTJ Awards will be a focal point during a wonderful evening for networking and celebration. The evening will commence with a tour of the museum, followed by a 3 course dinner. The Awards will be presented during the course of the dinner service, and the evening will finish with music and dancing.

Venue: Hellenic Motor Museum, Athens

Date: May 23rd

Time: 7pm – midnight

A shuttle service will transfer delegates from the Wyndham Grand lobby at 7pm

Dress code: Evening wear. Black tie is not obligatory but most welcome!

ATHENS SIGHTSEEING TOUR WITH ACROPOLIS

  • This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop).
  • Continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma).
  • On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon.
