Dr Daniel Horsfall has published widely in the field of medical tourism on issues ranging from patient flows, through the role of the internet, to particular types of treatment including weight-loss surgery. As part of the UK’s leading group of medical tourism researchers Daniel has worked on projects funded through the British government, the Korean Health Industry Development Institute, and the OECD.
Alongside colleagues Professor Neil Lunt and Dr Johannna Hanefeld Daniel edited the Elgar Handbook on Medical Tourism and Patient Mobility, in which he has also authored a number of chapters.
Daniel is a leading academic expert on patient flows and has both presented and published on the methodological challenges related to mapping the market for travel.
