Brand Manager, Danubius Health Spa Resorts, Hungary
Mike Wallace has worked in the spa/leisure/health and fitness industry in operations, product development and planning for more than 20 years. Starting out as a fitness instructor he worked up through the ranks to club and regional management for LivingWell Health Clubs and Soho Gyms.
In 1999 he moved to Hungary to design, set up and operate 7 fitness clubs for Danubius Hotels across Central Europe. Mike currently is contracted as Brand Manager/Spa Director for Danubius Health Spa Resorts which in addition to setting up new ventures includes the responsibility for the operations, business performance and development of 18 complex medical health spas across Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Czech Republic.
In addition to over 20 years hands on experience in medical spa, wellness and fitness management, his remit includes the planning and launching of many large scale medical spa/fitness/wellness projects and redevelopments in both Central Europe and the UK. He regularly presents in spa and wellness conferences and lectures for the Budapest Business School on Health and Wellness Tourism and Spa Management. He has also written articles and books on health, wellness and spa management.
